I found a library item that I thought I had lost - what should I do?

Please return any item(s) you found.  Even library materials for which you have paid the lost fees still belong to the Contra Costa County Library.

If you paid by cash or check, either inside the library or by mail, then you may be able to get a partial refund if it was within one year of the time you paid the item(s), assuming the item is being returned in good condition.  Please bring your white payment receipt to the library when you return the item(s) and complete the Refund Demand form.  You will only be able to get the replacement cost of the item(s) and not the $5.00 non-refundable processing fee(s).  The maximum overdue fine for each item will also be subtracted from the refund total.

Refunds are not available for payments made online. The online payment service is unable to provide the type of receipt required by County Auditor/Controller in order to issue a refund. See more about payments online.

Payment made for items borrowed through LINK+ (interlibrary loan) are not entitled to a refund.
