How do I return items I have borrowed?

 

Returns

Items checked out from one Contra Costa County Community Library may be returned to any other Contra Costa County Library location during open hours or to library book drops after the library is closed.

  • Materials should be returned on the due date to avoid overdue fines.

  • Return LINK+ items directly to library staff at the Service Desk of any Contra Costa County Library and get a return receipt.

  • Rossmoor Books to Go materials must be returned to the Rossmoor Administration Office.

 Returned items still show as checked out on your account:

  • While the Library has many systems in place to ensure that all library materials returned get accurately checked-in, on occasion an item may not get properly cleared from an account.

  • Sometimes there may be a delay in processing returns due to closed days and holidays. No fines will be charged.

  • If materials are returned damaged or with missing parts, they will remain on your library card account and will be billed accordingly.

  • If several days after an item was returned, it still shows as checked out to your account, please contact library staff for assistance.

  • It is your responsibility to notify library staff if materials which have been returned are not properly cleared from your account.

Lost & Paid - Material Found

  • If you should find library material after paying the lost fee, please return the item. This material still belongs to the Contra Costa County Library.

  • Return the item in person directly to Library Staff.
  • Ask if the item qualifies for a partial refund.
