How do I transfer an MP3 audiobook to a Kindle?
You can "sideload" the Library's OverDrive MP3 audiobook files from your computer to your Kindle through your USB connection. When your Kindle is plugged into your computer, it will appear as a removable mass-storage device.
To move files to and from Kindle:
- Connect your Kindle to your computer. Your Kindle should appear on your computer in the same location you would normally find an external USB drive.
- Use your computer's file browser to drag and drop.
- When finished, use your computer's undock, eject, or unmount feature to remove your Kindle.
Only MP3 audiobooks that are copied to the "Audible" folder on the Kindle will work with the OverDrive Downloadable Media collection.
Instructions have been adapted from the Amazon Kindle web site.
